Is MCO 2.0 Really Happening? Find Out The Deets Here

Can the Malaysian economy even handle another Movement Control Order (MCO)?

I don’t think so! As of today, there are about 101 cases of COVID-19 in Malaysia. The number is frightening, honestly. The majority of cases originate from Lahad Datu, Semporna, and Tawau in Sabah. Also from those who returned back to Peninsular Malaysia from Sabah. Not to mention that some of the local shopping malls like Suria KLCC, Nu Sentral, Sunway Pyramid, The LINC KL, KL Gateway Mall, and Aeon Nilai are now at risk due to COVID-19 as well.

With that, the MCO 2.0 issue rises among Malaysians. The topic is currently trending on Twitter. So far it’s only rumored. More of like a concerned feeling as a citizen. After all, many people have lost their jobs due to the pandemic. The uneasy feeling is understandable. Both the government and the people can’t handle another MCO for say.

Of course, students are affected as well. Ex-Minister of Youth and Sports, Syed Saddiq stated his disappointment when the government postponed university intake of the red zone area until further notice. The last-minute announcement has created mixed feelings between students and their families. Could it be because of the potential MCO 2.0? I am honestly not sure.

All I can say is that before the government can implement the MCO 2.0 in Malaysia, we should consider everything to prevent it from happening. Need a reminder? Maintain good social distancing, always wear a face mask, avoid hugging and shaking hands, always wash your hands or sanitize them. Remember the right SOPs especially when you’re traveling. There’s no use of panicking for no reason while you could contribute to preventing the virus from spreading around.
